Named the “Best Color Consultant” by Los Angeles Magazine’s Best of LA Issue, Jill Kirsh (JillKirshColor.com) has been featured in InStyle Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, and Woman's World Magazine to name a few – so needless to say, we were thrilled when we were able to snag an exclusive interview with this colorful character and queen of shades.   One of our points of pride in our custom design work is our huge array of color choices, but how to choose the one that’s right for you? According to Jill, “Everyone can wear most every color; it just depends on its hue. The wrong shade can result in a friend saying ‘you need a vacation’ while the right shade can brighten your appearance so drastically that it looks like you just came back from one! ”   Q: We’ve heard a lot about what clothing women should wear according to their hair color, but how do purses factor into that?   A: Purses are part of creating the whole picture so you want to choose colors that compliment you hair, especially when we’re talking about shoulder bags where that strap is right next to your face. You can create some unusual and fabulous combinations that all complement each other and that make you shine! It’s actually a lot of fun when all the shades you’re wearing are in sync and the system I’ve created uses your present hair color as the jumping off point.   Q: What’s the best neutral color for a purse that would look good with just about anyone?   A: Each hair color has their neutrals. The best neutrals for warm blondes are camel, pecan and tan. Deep brunettes shine in black, graphite or navy. Cordovan, taupe and medium gray are perfect for those with ash blonde or gray hair. Golden browns and redheads rock cinnamon, rust and mahogany.   Q: For those who really want to turn heads, can you talk a little about which primary, non-neutral colors look best for redheads, blondes, and brunets?   A: If you want to leave the neutral comfort zone and have some fun, here are some tips:   Golden browns and redheads: teal, aubergine, forest green Deep brunettes: cobalt, fuchsia, royal purple Warm blondes: turquoise, salmon, lilac Ash blondes, platinums and grays: rose red, mint green, lavender   Q: Does a woman’s skin color matter, or is it more about the hair color when it comes to matching?   A: It’s really more about the hair color. Your hair is what frames your face, it frames the picture, the eyes, the smile and to pull everything together - you’ve gotta work it!     Photo: Courtesy of Jill Kirsh   For more of our stories you can visit www.storyleather.com/blog or visit our Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest for all of any updates on new styles, leathers, or promo codes.
