  • What to Wear: Labor Day Weekend

Posted on August 31, 2012 by Jennifer Bryant

It's not officially the last weekend of summer, but it may as well be! This is likely your last chance to head to the lake/beach/wherever you sneak away to for holidays.

Want to bring a little fall into your Labor Day wardrobe but it's still warm outside? Pair a summer dress with brown booties, like the girl below.

Staying in the city for Labor Day but wish you were leaving? Dress like you made it to the woods with a flannel shirt and cut-off jeans and head to the park.

Going to a party on the beach, or maybe at the lake? This look will take you from day to night, just change your shoes.

And what should you wear, guys?

Keep it clean and classic with a black henley, neutral shorts, and Converse. It's a look that will work anywhere (except the office!)

Can you say urban style? Tank, jeans, and rugged boots. This guy is definitely staying in the city this weekend.

This look can be city or rural. Worn khakis, button-down shirt and loafers? You might even be able to pull this off at the (casual) office before heading out for the weekend! (Though we recommend leaving out the cigarette - it isn't a good look or idea for anyone!!)

Wherever you go and whatever you do this weekend, stay safe and enjoy!

  • Mint Green with Envy

Posted on July 26, 2012 by Jennifer Bryant

Some colors come in and out of style with the season. Some remind us only of our grandmother's kitchens, or our mother's 80's eye shadow.

But one color seems to be timeless. Mint green.

It is delicate, but not diminutive. Pastel, but powerful. Feminine, but still a touch edgy.

From your feet to your ears, there is a way for everyone to try this color!

Believe it or not, you can do all over mint green! Just use different shades...

A bold statement necklace in mint green demands attention. But be sure you wear this choice with a simpler top. This necklace deserves all the focus.

A mint green jacket would be the perfect way to welcome the fall chill. And many of us wish that chill would hurry up and get here!

But the quickest and cheapest way to add a little mint green to your wardrobe? Pick up a bottle of polish and paint those nails! Mint green goes with pretty much everything, and isn't too much color for the office.

There are countless ways to add this color into your life...choose the one that best suits you.

  • Summer Style for the Office

Posted on July 20, 2012 by Jennifer Bryant

Between the stifling heat and the surprise summer storms, it is easy to fall into a fashion rut during the summer. Below are a few adorable outfits you may want to try! Of course, not all of these outfits may be appropriate for the office. If you work in a more conservative environment, substitute closed toe pumps for the open toe heels. And make sure the hemline of your own adorable skirt falls at least at the knee, instead of a few inches above.

You probably already have a version of this outfit in your closet! A crisp white button-down, a neutral skirt, and pops of color. This look uses turquoise, a brilliant but office-friendly color. But you could use any color you wanted - maybe yellow?

This look would transition perfectly from office to evening. The structured leather handbag makes the lightweight summer dress feel more office appropriate, and with the right shoes (and blazer, depending on your work environment) you can definitely make this work.

This is another look you may already have in your closet. You could even use the same white button-down as before, if you wanted. But this time, pair it with a dark navy or black A-line skirt. Grab a large structured bag (like the one in the previous look) and heels, and you're all set. Though to keep the professional look, you may want to leave the heart-shaped sunglasses at home :)

This look is soft and romantic, but still office appropriate. The adorable mint green skirt could go with almost any color shirt, but again, a basic white keeps the outfit suitable for the office. Neutral accessories let the polka-dot skirt be the star of the outfit, just as it should be.

What do you think of these outfits? Would you wear any of them to the office?

  • Travel Hacks: How to Make Travel Easier for Less

Posted on July 9, 2012 by Jennifer Bryant

Tis the season for travel! So here are a few travel hacks to make your travels easier.

Have you ever had a bottle of shampoo open up in your suitcase? Then you probably started putting all your liquid toiletries in ziploc bags to ensure your clothes stay clean and shampoo-free. But there is an easier and cheaper way to keep those bottles from leaking. Just place some plastic wrap under the cap, and screw the cap back on! No more wasted Ziploc bags.

Going on a road trip? Buy a cheap remote control organizer from Ikea, and you have a handy organzier for your things!

Many water bottles you can buy for travel contain BPA and other possible hazardous chemicals...and those that don't can be pricey! This blog tells you how to make your own travel glass and straw.

Board games are fun to play, but rather difficult to play in a car! But this blog gives you step by step directions to make your board games travel friendly.

And, of course, an iPad is always a handy travel tool...though it isn't exactly "for less"! But if you already own one, consider getting a custom case for it. The Hampton iPad case is customizable, and offers little extras to make it even better for travel.

  • What to Wear: Wedding Season

Posted on June 22, 2012 by Jennifer Bryant

A new season has arrived. No, not summer.

    Wedding season!

If you're like me, you have at least three invitations posted on your fridge. And once you've answered the "date or no date" question, you must answer the next important question.

    Whatever will I wear?

    Here are a few ideas.

A frilly little black dress is an excellent choice, especially when paired with light accessories. This look feels light and airy, something we all need in this sweltering heat.

This lacy little black dress is a tad fancier than the previous one. With some dressier accessories, this dress would be perfect for an evening ceremony.

This feminine look would be great for an afternoon wedding, especially an outdoor one.

And this precious yellow dress could go day or night. Just throw on heels instead of the flats, and you're ready to dance all night at that fancy reception!

  • Stylin' Summer Shorts

Posted on June 15, 2012 by Jennifer Bryant

Ever wonder how to wear those adorable summer shorts you keep seeing on Pinterest? Here are a few ideas to keep you looking classy and comfortable all summer!

Brown leather sandals, brown leather bag, gold accesories, and a white and grey long-sleeve shirt dress up plain jean shorts.

Crisp white shorts look great paired with those same brown and gold accessories, and a loose blue shirt will keep you cool on a hot summer day.

A mustard cardigan thrown over this simple outfit brightens the look, and will keep you warm in the theater when you go see one of the blockbuster movies coming out soon.

And take a cue from the always stylish Jennifer Aniston! Use those same brown accessories, navy blue shirt, and throw on some aviators for street style.

The wide leg pant is one of the top looks for summer 2012, but many people have a hard time deciding how exactly to style their outfit around the pants. Here are a few looks we found on Pinterest to help you learn how to pull off this comfy and stylish look.

No, you don't have to avoid pairing yellow and black! If you wear it with as much panache as this woman, you absolutely do not look like a bumble bee :)

You can totally mix florals and stripes.
