If you live in Atlanta, Austin, Boulder, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, Riverside, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis or in some parts of New York and New Jersey, you may soon be able to use your AT&T smartphone or tablet to activate and control your home alarm system. The Digital Life home security and management system is designed for mobile Internet lifestyles, allowing users to unlock doors, turn on lights,  and even change the temperature in their homes. The basic packages range from $29.99 a month plus $149.99 for installation and equipment to $39.99 a month plus $249.99 for installation and equipment. For an additional fee, Digital Life customers can also watch video feeds, even detect water leaks and shut off water at its main source! To use this system, a central control panel can be programmed through an app or Web interface and the panel connects to AT&T’s wireless network, but it should also be connected to a wired Internet modem for redundancy. If you tend to worry about the security of your home, this is definitely a service you should consider!
