  • Top Places To Visit This Summer:

Posted on June 16, 2016 by Andrea Romero

It’s that time of the year when we all like to be out and about and the sun is shining a little harder. We made a list of top places to visit this summer and this would have to be based on the amount of great things to do while traveling, fashion, and of course the love for leather. Here are the top four places that we have selected for leather lovers to visit:

    Miami, Florida:

The beaches are sandy, the skies are pretty blue, and the sun is pretty bright in Florida. We have selected Miami as a top place to visit this summer and you can definitely take one of our tote bags or our ID holder there because Miami is pretty well known for loving the finer things in life. They have a luxury driven feel, a love for modern design, and perhaps a slight obsession with the color white which we don’t have a problem with. It’s fresh and soothing along with light and inviting.

    New York:

We all know that New York is known for their fashion and their city views in the summer are stunning. It’s definitely the kind of place that you can create your own messenger bag. We’ve got the perfect style for men and women. Have that little special something that makes you stand out from everybody else. For some reason some fringe always stands out when New York comes into the picture, perhaps it’s because fringe is one of the most fun and fashionable things that’s out in the fashion world and luckily for you, we can have that ready for you at Story Leather. You can also make a pretty big statement with a boho chic leather skirt.

Get your passport ready because it’s about that time! It’s time to visit on the hottest spots around and don’t miss the chance to create the perfect passport holder because we travel in fashion. Story Leather has the best selection of passport holders and you can even design your passport holder to have your initials. After your get a hold of your passport situation, that’s when the next fun part comes in which is have the best time in Ibiza. It is home to some of the most gorgeous beaches in the world along with some of the best nightlife. With this kind of adventure, you have to get ready from snorkeling too.

    Los Angeles:

We can’t forget Los Angeles! We love the glamour, shine, and fashion of Hollywood! Los Angeles is the entertainment capital of the world and the fashion is pretty A-list too! Story Leather is based out of California so we might have a preference for this super sunny city. There are so many fun things to do in Los Angeles. You can see the Hollywood stars, catch a show at El Capitan Theatre, do a hike in Malibu, or dress it up in Beverly Hills.

Make this a summer to remember and definitely have some fun! Visit new and exciting places and don’t limit yourself to just the cities. In the next few blogs we will talk about outdoor driven adventure and beautiful places to enjoy nature with. We are passionate about learning, evolving, and of course being fashionable in our favorite leather pieces but we never limit ourselves. There are so many great things to experience and beautiful places to see.

No summer is complete without some nice sunnies, a lovely pair of strappy heels, and leather accessories. Oh and let’s not forget a lovely swimsuit. Here are must have’s for the upcoming season:

All of us need the perfect shades and there is one brand that is always in style. Ray Ban’s. We love a gold plated oversized aviator look to compliment the lightness of summer colors. This summer we want to be playful so mirrored frames also sound lovely! These kind of gold tones will pair very well with a Story Leather tote bag or hand bag. For days when we want to be more adventurous, some cat eye glasses will do the trick!

    Strappy Heels:

Every fashionista needs the perfect summer shoe and this year we are loving the look of a strappy heel. Wear it with some fun summer shorts and a pinstripe top or try some boyfriend jeans for a fun look. We are loving the Olivia Nude Sandal on

    Story Leather Accessory:

Our must have accessory for the summer from Story Leather would definitely be a summer tote bag! Story Leather’s Mayfield Woven Tote Bag is the perfect bag for all your summer adventures. Pack up for a nice day out and about the city for shopping or a nice beach day. It’s the perfect design but you can create your own perfect design and you can select any color that you want, we’re thinking a sandy color would be perfect!

Summer is a fun and free time. It’s a time to be warm and light hearted. It’s a great time to be adventurous and get out of your comfort zones. Play with color, play with patterns, play with fashion, play with your style. Merchandise it up, style it up. Make this summer one to remember.

  • 5 Leather Accessories Color Trends for Spring/Summer 2016

Posted on April 25, 2016 by Andrea Romero

The bags, the leather strap platforms, the wallet and clutches, the ID card and phone cases; keeping up with season’s leather accessories can take as much time as the prêt-a-porter itself. This season is embraced by the designer-savvy and exciting mix of hues for leather accessories. From graphic leather clutches to cute coin purses and more, the season’s trending colors have entered a mint condition of maximalist spirit. We have curated the top 2016 color trends in leather accessories –consider this your spring accessories cheat sheet.
    Floral Pastels

Call it rose, peach, taffy, punch, or fuchsia –all the shades of neutral to soft pink are totally going to rock spring 2016 trend palette. Pink has been picked as the pastels of flowers in early spring and a proven powerful color in London Fashion Week. From the first day, it ruled all over the ramp with its floral, sweet, neutral and hot shades. The significance of this candy color have been popping up more into its powder versions and brands like Angel Chen, Bora Aksu and Felder gave it connotation in the form of leather accessories.
    Feeling Blue

Blue is picked as the color of this year. Designers have the icy shades of blue for spring (still inspired from Frozen) to turquoise, teal, and sapphire –the blue lovers will have nearly every shade possible for this color. The vibrant shades practiced at Tracy Reese and Christian Siriano, it’s obvious that blue is big for spring. Yes, the cerulean speech from The Devil Wears Prada has influenced the fashion scene immensely.
    Earth Tones

Apparently basic but highly functional and trendy –nothing compliments earth-toned better than leather accessories. After all the madness of fashion weeks revealed the collections of New York, London, Milan, and Paris – it was clearly observed that all top designers including Chloe, Valentino, Hermes and Givenchy, practiced their accessories in earth tones. The color ranges from nude, iced coffee and moss to neutral and khaki.
    Lilac Gray

The spring/summer 2016 color trends are taken as unisex to apprehend the foregoing tech-savvy culture. The color palette has everything in the plate from vivid feminine hues bringing out excitement to neutral and quite tones to stabilize the overall appearance. Lilac gray is trending in spring/ summer fashion scene as it is the color of sophistication and grace.
    The Evergreen White
White is the true shade for summers and this year it does not gone from fashion scene. A white faux leather clutch, bag or purse will never get out of fashion. It immediately adds grace to any kind of silhouette.

  • What to Wear: Labor Day Weekend

Posted on August 31, 2012 by Jennifer Bryant

It's not officially the last weekend of summer, but it may as well be! This is likely your last chance to head to the lake/beach/wherever you sneak away to for holidays.

Want to bring a little fall into your Labor Day wardrobe but it's still warm outside? Pair a summer dress with brown booties, like the girl below.

Staying in the city for Labor Day but wish you were leaving? Dress like you made it to the woods with a flannel shirt and cut-off jeans and head to the park.

Going to a party on the beach, or maybe at the lake? This look will take you from day to night, just change your shoes.

And what should you wear, guys?

Keep it clean and classic with a black henley, neutral shorts, and Converse. It's a look that will work anywhere (except the office!)

Can you say urban style? Tank, jeans, and rugged boots. This guy is definitely staying in the city this weekend.

This look can be city or rural. Worn khakis, button-down shirt and loafers? You might even be able to pull this off at the (casual) office before heading out for the weekend! (Though we recommend leaving out the cigarette - it isn't a good look or idea for anyone!!)

Wherever you go and whatever you do this weekend, stay safe and enjoy!

  • Mint Green with Envy

Posted on July 26, 2012 by Jennifer Bryant

Some colors come in and out of style with the season. Some remind us only of our grandmother's kitchens, or our mother's 80's eye shadow.

But one color seems to be timeless. Mint green.

It is delicate, but not diminutive. Pastel, but powerful. Feminine, but still a touch edgy.

From your feet to your ears, there is a way for everyone to try this color!

Believe it or not, you can do all over mint green! Just use different shades...

A bold statement necklace in mint green demands attention. But be sure you wear this choice with a simpler top. This necklace deserves all the focus.

A mint green jacket would be the perfect way to welcome the fall chill. And many of us wish that chill would hurry up and get here!

But the quickest and cheapest way to add a little mint green to your wardrobe? Pick up a bottle of polish and paint those nails! Mint green goes with pretty much everything, and isn't too much color for the office.

There are countless ways to add this color into your life...choose the one that best suits you.

  • Summer Style for the Office

Posted on July 20, 2012 by Jennifer Bryant

Between the stifling heat and the surprise summer storms, it is easy to fall into a fashion rut during the summer. Below are a few adorable outfits you may want to try! Of course, not all of these outfits may be appropriate for the office. If you work in a more conservative environment, substitute closed toe pumps for the open toe heels. And make sure the hemline of your own adorable skirt falls at least at the knee, instead of a few inches above.

You probably already have a version of this outfit in your closet! A crisp white button-down, a neutral skirt, and pops of color. This look uses turquoise, a brilliant but office-friendly color. But you could use any color you wanted - maybe yellow?

This look would transition perfectly from office to evening. The structured leather handbag makes the lightweight summer dress feel more office appropriate, and with the right shoes (and blazer, depending on your work environment) you can definitely make this work.

This is another look you may already have in your closet. You could even use the same white button-down as before, if you wanted. But this time, pair it with a dark navy or black A-line skirt. Grab a large structured bag (like the one in the previous look) and heels, and you're all set. Though to keep the professional look, you may want to leave the heart-shaped sunglasses at home :)

This look is soft and romantic, but still office appropriate. The adorable mint green skirt could go with almost any color shirt, but again, a basic white keeps the outfit suitable for the office. Neutral accessories let the polka-dot skirt be the star of the outfit, just as it should be.

What do you think of these outfits? Would you wear any of them to the office?

  • Travel Hacks: How to Make Travel Easier for Less

Posted on July 9, 2012 by Jennifer Bryant

Tis the season for travel! So here are a few travel hacks to make your travels easier.

Have you ever had a bottle of shampoo open up in your suitcase? Then you probably started putting all your liquid toiletries in ziploc bags to ensure your clothes stay clean and shampoo-free. But there is an easier and cheaper way to keep those bottles from leaking. Just place some plastic wrap under the cap, and screw the cap back on! No more wasted Ziploc bags.

Going on a road trip? Buy a cheap remote control organizer from Ikea, and you have a handy organzier for your things!

Many water bottles you can buy for travel contain BPA and other possible hazardous chemicals...and those that don't can be pricey! This blog tells you how to make your own travel glass and straw.

Board games are fun to play, but rather difficult to play in a car! But this blog gives you step by step directions to make your board games travel friendly.

And, of course, an iPad is always a handy travel tool...though it isn't exactly "for less"! But if you already own one, consider getting a custom case for it. The Hampton iPad case is customizable, and offers little extras to make it even better for travel.

  • What to Wear: Wedding Season

Posted on June 22, 2012 by Jennifer Bryant

A new season has arrived. No, not summer.

    Wedding season!

If you're like me, you have at least three invitations posted on your fridge. And once you've answered the "date or no date" question, you must answer the next important question.

    Whatever will I wear?

    Here are a few ideas.

A frilly little black dress is an excellent choice, especially when paired with light accessories. This look feels light and airy, something we all need in this sweltering heat.

This lacy little black dress is a tad fancier than the previous one. With some dressier accessories, this dress would be perfect for an evening ceremony.

This feminine look would be great for an afternoon wedding, especially an outdoor one.

And this precious yellow dress could go day or night. Just throw on heels instead of the flats, and you're ready to dance all night at that fancy reception!

  • Stylin' Summer Shorts

Posted on June 15, 2012 by Jennifer Bryant

Ever wonder how to wear those adorable summer shorts you keep seeing on Pinterest? Here are a few ideas to keep you looking classy and comfortable all summer!

Brown leather sandals, brown leather bag, gold accesories, and a white and grey long-sleeve shirt dress up plain jean shorts.

Crisp white shorts look great paired with those same brown and gold accessories, and a loose blue shirt will keep you cool on a hot summer day.

A mustard cardigan thrown over this simple outfit brightens the look, and will keep you warm in the theater when you go see one of the blockbuster movies coming out soon.

And take a cue from the always stylish Jennifer Aniston! Use those same brown accessories, navy blue shirt, and throw on some aviators for street style.
